Re: Energy Efficient LED Street Lights
Dear Mr. Rojas,
It has recently been brought to my attention that the City of Menlo Park is in the process of entering into a "NO BID" agreement with Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) for a Turn Key Street Lighting Program. The basis of this program is funded through the California Energy Commission (CEC) 1% Loan/Grant Funding. My firm, Omega Pacific Electrical Supply, Inc. is in the business of supplying this Technology to local municipal customers and governmental agencies. Samplings of Cities that we have furnished materials to are as follows.
Ø City of American Canyon
Ø City of Citrus Heights
Ø City of El Cerrito
Ø City of Hayward
Ø City of Richmond
Ø City of San Pablo
Ø City and County of San Francisco
These are just a few of the Northern California Cities whom have elected to move forward with this technology. I would hope that you would consider allowing Local and Small Business firms to participate in the procurement process as suppose to issuing a "NO BID Contract to PG&E." I would expect as a City Official that you would want to gain the best possible deal for the citizens of the City of Menlo Park, "The Best Bang for the Buck!", consistent with the goals of the Federal Recovery Act.
Please allow us to participate in the process as I am sure you conduct a clear and transparent government. Please feel free to give me a call at (510) 236-8520. If time permits, please take a look our most recent completed project at the San Francisco International Airport. The San Mateo Bridge, Lights along the International Terminal Exit off Hwy 101 were converted to LED Street Lights by CALTRANS.
Environmentally Yours,
Todd Lewis
