Hello,
I am a mom of two, a part time PR consultant and a citizen committed to being responsible with our resources. My consultancy consists of two mobility clients and two Œclean techı companies. I am moving in the direction of clean tech and am getting much smarter about our planet. As you know, the problem seems so large, it sometimes feels as if nothing will help...I feel that way often.
However, big on my mind these days is the use and misuse of plastic bags. You might be aware that the UK has outlawed them! You might have also read that Palo Alto banned them, and I just read that a county in Sacramento has also. People talk about charging a fee for these bags, but I donıtı think that will make a big enough difference (unless they are $5 each!).
What can I do to help Menlo Park completely ban the use of plastic bags? I would also be willing to work with you to write and issue the press release and shoot for local and national coverage on our ban.
Please let me know if there is a process to get this started (petition?), or is this something that you all can just pass??
Thank you for your attention,
Kelly Brieger
