Dear City Council Members and Housing Commission Chair,

I have just read that it may be possible for the city to purchase some foreclosed properties in the Bell Haven area to use eventually as below market rate housing. I know that there may be a number of hurtles in order to accomplish this. However, this seems to be an excellent use for redevelopment funds and an efficient answer to some of the chronic lower cost housing problems in Menlo Park, now exacerbated by the financial morass.

I spent 8 years on the Menlo Park Housing Commission and we were always looking for the most productive use of these and other funds available to us.

If you should get to the point where it looks like a viable option or simply need any real estate counsel, I would be pleased to offer any help I can give on a volunteer basis and any of Coldwell Banker's resources that may be available.
