FW: City Council Meeting October 7th

From: Mary Murphy <mary_at_(domain_name_was_removed)>
Date: Mon Oct 06 2008 - 17:31:58 PDT

Dear City Council,

I urge you to comment to city staff that they should immediately grant the Oak Knoll encroachment permits to MPCSD with conditions defined in the staff report # 08-149.

Over 70% of Menlo Park voters approved the 2006 bond measure to upgrade our Menlo Park schools - the taxpayers and voters of Menlo Park want better schools for our children. The school district has worked with the city staff, just as citizens have worked diligently with the school district. The district's plans reflect these discussions.

The city staff has incorporated concerns of neighbors and placed conditions on the permit to accommodate these concerns. We don't need more discussion or review on this, which would detrimentally delay the Oak Knoll project.

This is an opportunity for you to exercise your leadership. Your supportive comments to staff will convey a clear message to the community that you support excellence in our city's schools as much as we, taxpayers and voters, do. Our children deserve this.

Thank you.       Received on Mon Oct 6 17:32:04 2008
