Hi Emily,
Thanks so much for the invite but as a criminal defense attorney I can't support Barack Obama--who I have renamed Barack " I support the death penalty even for rapists" O'Bush." Below is an e-mail I sent out recently on the subject. ( I will be voting for Ralph Nader):
Emily, I mean no disrespect and do believe that Obama is better --the lesser of two evils-- when compared to John McCain ( Insane)--but I can't vote for Obama. As a Jewish person ( and strongly anti--Zionist based on my faith) I am also appalled at Obama's uncritical support of the Nazi like state of Israel.
I hope that your event goes well and that you continue to participate in our political system. If you should ever want to discuss Obama and his positions in more depth please feel free to contact me.
Best regards,
Aram James

Spiritual Leader my !
Hi Folks,
Why all the false myths re Barack “I’m for the death penalty even for rapist" O'Bush. Obama being a Harvard educated lawyer (and one who sat on the Illinois Commission for the Fair Administration of Justice--so he knows better) knows all to well that many on death row are there as a consequences of wrongful convictions resulting from a grossly unfair and systemically racist criminal injustice system.
And, of course, anyone who is even slightly aware of the data re who ends up most likely to be wrongfully convicted and then executed--well, we all know its African-Americans and then the poor. Your hero Barack Obama openly and enthusiastically supports state sanctioned genocidal murder (executions) of his own people (so what if they're wrongfully convicted--talk about a callous individual) --so much for being a spiritual leader--give me a break!!!!
Please if you want to vote for Obama--be my guest but don't pretend for a minute that this is a guy with compassion or a guy whose name should be compared with MLK. Ask yourself would MLK ever support a candidate who in disregard of all the facts--- closes his eyes to the reality of the death penalty and turns his back on his own people. I think not.
Aram

Allen, pleeeze... if 80% of your readers agree with you then 80% of your readers are as asleep as you are. Â Obama's as phony as a three-dollar bill! Â Awake?! ...give me a break. Â Left behind?! ...left behind by what? ...the Obama Express to bomb Iran? Â I seem to remember you also believed the USG's 9-11 canard too. Â Is your PhD in gullibility?
Once again, wake the hell up! -- galen

Give me a break, Allen! Â Obama is about as "spiritual" as Bush is a "Christian". Â You're asleep, man! -- galen

Barack Obama combines the empathy of Robert F Kennedy with Martin Luther King Jr's passion for social justice and strikes a deep yearning, by both Americans and the world, for a spiritual leader who will not only unite us but join us to a universal chord of altruism, social justice and love that is deepest within each one of us: Allen L RolandÂ
This is a note for you from Emily D., another MoveOn member in Palo Alto:
Hi! My name is Emily D. and I live in Palo Alto, Crescent Park area. I'm throwing a "Call for Change" party this weekend to help Obama and I'd love for you to come. I was personally motivated to volunteer for Obama after his speech at the DNC, I just felt that I couldn't sit back and hope the right thing happens. McCain doesn't worry me so much but Palin having that much power makes me seriously consider moving to Canada. We can't let our country go that way. So I'm throwing a party with my friend and roommate Becka. I got an email about hosting a calling party and thought this would be a great way to get involved. We don't know who we're calling yet, MoveOn will provide us with all the information we need soon. We've got a couple people coming already but we need many more! I've got plenty of couch space and a very friendly dog. So please RSVP and come with a cell phone and charger!
Here are the details:
