December 14th Council Meeting - Closed Session

From: Roy Thiele-Sardina <roy_at_(domain_name_was_removed)>
Date: Fri, 10 Dec 2010 12:54:15 -0800

Dear Council Members, Mr. McClure and Ms. Roberts

The agenda for Tuesday December 14 includes a closed session on labor negotiations.

As you are all well aware, while council is permitted to hold closed door meetings on such negotiations, it is not required to do so, and indeed the public has asked council to make them open. Given the lack of integrity and transparency displayed by the council this week, I think you should either postpone this meeting and have a public forum to discuss this important issue. Or better yet open up the meeting to the public.

Council needs to continue to fulfill its commitment to the community for open government and take that promise seriously. Your rapidly eroding credibility as a council is at stake.

Regards

Roy Thiele-Sardiņa
