Subject: RE: special meeting Friday 3 pm

The public always has the right to comment on any item on the agenda, whether it is a regular meeting or a special meeting. (There is no "public comment" period for items not on the agenda at a special meeting, hence no listing for "public comment" on the agenda.) Bill

Sadly even the Town Attorney needs a Brown Act refresher - the law states:"Every NOTICE for a special meeting SHALL PROVIDE an opportunity for members of the public to directly address"

That opportunity for public comment MUST be in the NOTICE of the meeting. How else would the public know that they could come and comment??????
