Striping on Stanford Ave.

About 25 years ago, some of us on Stanford Ave. asked the city to put a stripe on the S-curve part of Stanford Avenue to prevent accidents caused by people going too fast and not staying on their side of the road. Someone at the city got over-zealous and when Stanford was re-striped, a double yellow line was painted all the way from Oakdell to Lemon Street. This caused drivers to think that this was a major route to somewhere and the traffic has really picked up. Our portion of Stanford Avenue is now being resurfaced and then will be re-striped. I am asking that when the re-striping is done, you just do the S-curve section (begins at Doris Drive and ends at Louise Street. Please do not put a heavy double-yellow/black line all the way from Lemon to Oakdell. Thank you, Louise DeDera 1003 Louise St., corner of Louise St. and Stanford Ave. Received on Mon Nov 29 2010 - 16:02:09 PST
