BevMo application for permit

To Members of the Council:

We strongly oppose approval of the application of BevMo to open a store in Menlo Park. In no way does the application meet the test of "convenience or necessity" since there are several existing places in Menlo Park that sell alcoholic beverages, providing competition. Even the BevMo in Redwood City is easily accessible to Menlo Park residents. We realize that the city is anxious for sales tax revenue but there is a serious downside to this application.
