Request to consider and pass Climate Protection Resolution

Dear Mayor Cline and Council Members,

Thank you very much for agreeing to consider a resolution opposing Proposition 23 at the upcoming council meeting.

As mentioned in comments at the last meeting, Proposition 23 would have significant impacts on Menlo Park if passed. * It would hamper the city's ongoing efforts to set climate-friendly policy * It would harm the "clean technology" sector that is driving significant economic growth among VCs, start-up companies, and other businesses in Menlo Park.

Many other California cities agree that this is an issue pertinent to their cities, and have passed similar resolutions, including our neighbors Palo Alto and Atherton. A list of cities is below.

Thank you very much for your consideration. The Menlo Park Green RIbbon Citizens Committee would like to urge City Council to pass a resolution in opposition to Proposition 23.

Sincerely,

Adina Levin, Menlo Park Green Ribbon Citizens' Committee
