group meetings regarding.

In the February 9, 2005 issue of The Almanac, two
articles appeared on page 5 regarding closure of
nursing homes in Menlo Park.

In an effort to learn more about the implications of
these two developments, I contacted the Aging and
Adult Services Division of the Health Services
Department of San Mateo County.

According to the information I was given, the county
is planning focus group workshops throughout the
county in an effort to ascertain whether a problem
exists, and, if so, what can be done about it.

To that end, and based on the request of the Health
Services Department representative I spoke to, I
propose that the city offer an appropriate space(s) to
the county , in order than such a focus group
workshop(s) may be conducted in Menlo Park.

I further propose that this matter be placed on the
agenda at the next opportunity.
