Dear Menlo Park City Council Members:
I would like to thank and commend the Menlo Park City Council for its
willingness to listen to citizens' issues that are presented at its
meetings.
On Tuesday January 25, in the public comment section of the weekly
Council meeting, I had asked if the Council was aware that VTA will
terminate service on the 22 line to Menlo Park after July 4, 2005. I
appreciate that my voice was heard and that action is being taken.
At the meeting, it was mentioned that Menlo Park is in discussion
with Palo Alto about alternatives. I would like to ask if it is
possible to include some of us actual riders in those discussions.
In addition, I was a presenter of comments about the University/Menlo
Avenue intersection. As was said at the meeting, there is no ideal
solution to this difficult and dangerous intersection. I thank you
again for allowing my voice, and other residents' voices, to be
heard. And I applaud your prompt and unanimous vote. I do hope that
before that signal is designed, that the area residents and people
using that corridor have some input.
Lastly, some of you have expressed interest in reviving the Save the
Park Theater project. I would be more than happy to begin to work on
that, should you feel the interest is there.
Thank you for an informative, respectful and productive meeting,
