MICHELLE HARBOTTLE'S PROPERTY

I own 1955 Menalto--the oldest house in the block.
a two story home at the front which is on a tall foundation. You walk up
5 steps to get to the ground floor. The back carriage house is a ground
floor garage with apt. above it.

It is my understanding that Michelle has been asked to redesign her back
unit to a one story with garage. This
will be quite small due to driveways etc. Total square footage on her
property might be even less than other properties are now allowed.

However the future of that area is mixed homes--some one story and some
two. For years mine was the only two story ANYWHERE . AS the 3 condo
went up across the street--mine looked better. At the end of the block
facing Menalto, we now have a megahouse of two stories. This makes the
neighborhood more valuable AND more interesting.

A lovely development of three two story homes is proposed right across
the street from me. All look very upscale and tasteful.

Why are we dragging our feet about this two story standoff??? We are
stuck with expensive land. Please visualize what a nice area of mixed
homes this place could be and do not get dragged down by a few with no
vision.
