Honorable Mayor Carlton and Council Members,

There comes a time in every person's life when you have to decide what is
important. This month, that focus may be centered in part, on the
importance of Earth Day.

What is Earth Day? It occurs annually on April 22nd. Established in
1970, it is now celebrated in over 190 countries.

In Menlo Park, Earth Day activities are being combined with Bring Your Son
and Daughter To Work Day. Annually, that day is celebrated on the fourth
Thursday in April. This year, the two holidays are back to back.

On April 23, 2015 we have approx. 40 volunteers doing their part to make
this day Special. I'm proud that Menlo Park is making a difference.

So weather Climate Change is a priority for you, or other environmental
issue, Earth Day offers an opportunity to do something for your community.
Also, don't forget that Recology is also offering a grand celebration. For
them, the event will be on Saturday, April 11, 2015, from 10 am to 2 pm, with
an Open House. music, tours, food, a raffe and more will be offered.

Some may say, "Ask not what your city can do for you, but instead, what you
 can do for your city".
