Ideas for Menlo Park Bike Commission

Here are the few ideas I recommend the Bike Commission consider:

1. Create an easy-to-read downloadable *map *of the MP Bike Network. I was
surprised to learn we did not have one.

2. Create a* public forum *on the MP website that enables residents to
easily get answers to their questions and share information about biking
(and driving near bikes) in MP and adjacent areas.

This forum would create a broader sense of community for all residents,
remind them of what is expected of them when they ride and drive, and share
ideas and safety tips,

We need to diminish the "me versus them" attitudes and behaviors any way
we can; education is key.

Possible topics:

1. Safest bike routes from point A to point B.
2. Cyclist, driver and pedestrian "rules of the road".
3. Civil behavior and courtesies
4. Problem spots and recommendations.
5. Plans for Bike Network improvements.
6. Descriptions and status of current studies, projects, etc.

I believe we have a fine Bike Network that will get even better with the
support of the Bike Commission, City Council, and ALL residents.

Thank you.
