"Man in the Mirror"

Dear City Council,

You have lost the trust of the residents of Menlo Park. Clearly,
systematically, neatly wrapped in government-double-speak. I used to think
it was Staff directing the Council with a hidden agenda, (go back to the UUT
fiasco of Staff wanting more $$ to stop cuts,) the let's triple development
and hire more planners crap, but really, aren't you supposed to be smarter
than that? You're supposed to be bigger picture thinkers. Problem solvers.
Leaders. Aren't you? Well, you're not. In fact you are Leeches on our City,
you are the vision-less brown-nosers of developers and staff alike. One of
you is leaking emails addresses to Lee Duboc; who is it? Who is doing that?
Why is that OK? Fess up. Guess it's okay, like it's okay to use tax-payer
money to fight a tax-payer ballot measure. It's as bad as the meaningless
processes you use to forward your warped, solipsistic 'vision' for the city
while killing community, creative solutioning, and real problem solving,
all while patting yourselves on the back for other people's ideas (Belle
Haven Police Sub-station,) and pocketing money from Stanford and
developers, be it a via phony non-profit or 'special favors' with hopes for
higher office.

What problems have you solved? What problems have you created? How do you
measure success? You seem to think it's the number of hours your asses sit
in chambers listing to disgruntled residents.

You are a huge disappointment; what a shame. Shame on you all and sad for
our city.

I'm sure you will keep our crap City Manager; Lake Oswego kicked him to the
curb, you should too, but "A" people hire "A" people, "B" people hire "C"
people - yep, you'll keep him.

Do better, be better, be leaders, be unifiers, be problem solvers, be
mediocre - it'd be an improvment.

Elizabeth Houck
