Santa Cruz sidewalks

Dear City Council,

Thank you for the work you are doing to bring much needed sidewalks to Santa Cruz Avenue. I am in support of the following:
Sidewalks on both sides of the street;
Wide sidewalks (6-8 feet) to keep our children safe as they walk downtown after school;
A strip of plantings between the street and the sidewalk to buffer the sidewalk and beautify the surroundings; and
Maintaining wide bike lanes.
For the benefit of all Menlo Park residents, guests, and businesses, I also support the following:
Using the city's FULL right of way;
Eliminating all parking that gets in the way of the above priorities; and
Planting new trees for every heritage tree that is removed (though preserving heritage trees is a valid city goal, I believe the benefits of wider sidewalks for our vibrant, growing city outweigh the loss of the trees in this particular case).
Thank you again for your commitment to the betterment of our city.
