Menlo Park's above ground utilities

I don’t know the background to the current situation regarding utilities in Menlo Park since we moved from out of state to Menlo Park quite recently.

However, with so many environmental positives of Menlo Park, I think it is unfortunate that most if not all of the utilities (electric, phone, cable) are above ground. Those utilities certainly detract from the visual appeal, add maintenance costs when damaged and can pose safety risks.

If burying cables is not part of the normal review process, I suggest that it be added as part of all new project reviews.

I hope that was done prior to the current PG&E pole maintenance on Valpariso and the Santa Cruz sidewalk planning.

Thank you for listening.
