El Camino Real Corridor Study

From: Nagaya, Nicole H <"Nagaya,>
Date: Fri, 13 Feb 2015 12:40:08 -0800

City Council and Community Members,

As a point of clarification on the El Camino Real Corridor Study and parallel streets the City is currently evaluating alternatives for the corridor and the concepts currently include Alternative #1 which provides no bike accommodations on El Camino Real, but an alternative, parallel route would be developed.

You can find more information on the Study at the City's website: www.menlopark.org/elcaminorealcorridor<http://www.menlopark.org/elcaminorealcorridor>. As currently planned, four alternatives have been identified:

* Existing Conditions/No Change

* Alternative 1: Three continuous vehicle lanes on ECR (no bike accommodations on El Camino, but where an alternative, parallel route would be developed)

* Alternative 2: Buffered bike lanes

* Alternative 3: Separated bike lanes

These options were identified based on City Council direction that required one continuous three lane option and at least one bike lane option, with feedback gathered at community workshops in April and October 2014, meetings with the Bicycle and Transportation Commission, and an online survey open from June to September 2014.

A community workshop is scheduled for February 19th at 6:30pm in the Oak Room at the Arrillaga Recreation Center at 701 Alma Street to review the alternatives and provide a forum for public feedback on each. An online voting option will also be live at February 19th through March 13th if you cannot attend the workshop.

See meeting details: http://menlopark.org/Calendar.aspx?EID=901&month=2&year=2015&day=13&calType=0

Online voting available February 19th: http://menlopark.org/298/Open-City-Hall

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Best,
Nikki
