From: Hill-Jackson, Michael <"Hill-Jackson,>
Date: Wed, 2 Jul 2014 18:32:58 -0700

Our Director wanted to share her message to all employees about her
recent appoint as an Interim Network Director, VISN 18, in Arizona.

On July 7, 2014, I will begin a detail to the VISN 18 Network Office in
Gilbert, AZ, to the position of Acting Network Director (see
announcement below). The duration of the detail is not to exceed 120
days, but could end sooner if a permanent replacement for the Network
Director position is selected prior to that time.

During my detail, Mr. Tony Fitzgerald
<http://www.paloalto.va.gov/about/leadership.asp> , our Deputy Director,
will be Acting Director and Mr. Walt Dannenberg
<http://www.paloalto.va.gov/about/leadership.asp> , our Associate
Director, will be Acting Deputy Director. Mr. Fitzgerald will have full
authority to make decisions and to ensure VAPAHCS continues full steam
ahead on our continuous improvement journey during my absence. The
entire front office team, Dr. Leung, Dr. Ezeji-Okoye, Ms. Martinez, Mr.
Fitzgerald and Mr. Dannenberg, join me in our commitment to continue
VAPAHCS' excellence as a leader in VHA and in health care in this
Nation. As part of our local Accelerating Care Initiative, as a
leadership team we have agreed to increase our staffing by 50 positions
to improve our access, especially in the ambulatory care and procedure
settings.

I look forward to sharing the many best practices from VAPAHCS and VISN
21 during my time in VISN 18, and in turn bringing back best practices
from their sites of care. I will be thinking about all of you in the
weeks and months to come. I am very humbled to have this opportunity to
serve and will do my best to honor those who served, wherever they may
live.

Sincerely,

Lisa Freeman
