PGE gas lines 132 and 109 in West Menlo Park

Dear Council Members,

I am seeking your support in petitioning PG&E to re route BOTH gas lines
109 and 132 out of the 3000 Sand Hill Road and Sand Hill Circle townhouse
complex this summer.

These two large gas lines transit through our community. Line 109 was
built in 1938 (!) or thereabouts and Line 132 in the 1950"s. They run
along side each other. They are made out of steel and although they have
been alledgedly pressure tested, who really knows what condition those
welds are in. Do you want to drive a 60 or 70 year old car on the freeway?

PG&E is going to reroute line 109 out Sand Hill Road across 280 and then
northwest on undeveloped land. They say they are moving Line 109 because
it is irregularly constructed inside which prevents their inspection "pig"
from travelling inside it……I am suspicious they are also motivated because
it is ancient and corroded.

Why not just move both lines into the new hole they digging out and away
from our neighborhood?

Your involvement would be appreciated. I have included a map of the gas
lines.
