Honorable Mayor and Council Members:

The Menlo Park Historical Association takes great pride in the artifacts
and symbols of our past that helps collectively to make the city of Menlo
Park what it is today.

As such, we wish to heartedly give thanks for your interest and support in
preserving and protecting the cherished paintings gifted to the city from
the Rachel Bentley collection. As you know, approx. eight of her paintings
currently are on display on both the first and second floor of the
Administration Building.

Another approx. nine paintings were in the Recreation Building, but were
removed prior to the refurbishment and construction, and have been stored in
the basement of the Library. Once new matting, glass and frames are done,
perhaps they can once again be on display for public enjoyment, such as in
the Recreation Building, the Library meeting room and/or other suitable
location.

In the meantime, we invite you to view the June 2014 public display
located in the Library entrance - glass enclosed case featuring Rachel Bentley
Paintings.

Respectfully,

Jim Lewis
Board Member
Menlo Park Historical Association (MPHA)
