Att. Kirsten Keith -- flood control, yes; flood walls, no

To the members of the Menlo Park City Council:

Please remove from the proposal regarding the flood-control measures for
San Francisquito Creek the few words referring to the erection of flood
walls. It is possible to safeguard the communities living along the creek
without erecting ugly walls that would prevent us from enjoying the creek.
I and my wife walk our dogs almost everyday along Woodland Avenue; we enjoy
the beauty of the creek and of the trees on its banks.

I am mindful of the concerns of our neighbors in East Palo Alto and Palo
Alto, but they can be addressed by the alternatives to the flood walls that
have already been proposed.

Please protect our creek, our trees, the pleasure we derive from them.

Should you have a position on the question of the flood walls, I would be
glad to hear it.
