Stop Signs on Wallea Dr.

Just some background- in 2007 an "anonymous" citizen called about the
intersection of Wallea and San Mateo Dr. near Middle Ave. being unsafe. We
don't even know if that person lived in Menlo Park.

The city did a study at that time and decided to put in a Yield sign. At
the end of that meeting, we volunteered to remove some large juniper bushes
that were impeding the view. Those junipers have never been replaced,
which has given good visibility at the corner of Wallea Dr. and San Mateo
Dr. near Middle Ave.

Recently one complaint was filed that the yield sign had not been
installed. Now we are facing 2 stop signs!

The stop signs are being recommended because of "safety" issues. We have
lived here 44 years and there has NEVER been an accident here. Wallea is
the bike route and no bicyclist has ever been injured here to my knowledge.

I have been a stay at home Mom for years, which is to say, I have been home
during all hours. I have also driven countless times through that
intersection and have never even seen a close call.
Please do not put in unnecessary stop signs.

Thank you,
Judy Caletti
