Thank you so much for taking the time to write to us. Although the League of Cities (Menlo Park is a voting member) voted to oppose HR29, it already passed the Assembly on April 3rd.

Please note that HR29 is a House Resolution, and not a bill that creates a law. It has no teeth, and won't even go to the Senate. It does, however, outline the intention of the Assembly.

Our representative, Assemblyman Rich Gordon, abstained from voting on this resolution. We will be watching to see if a bill (which would actually make a law to limit our actions) is introduced in the coming years. If you would like to let Assemblyman Gordon know that you oppose any future bills like this, you can email his staff at: brook.yarnell_at_(domainremoved)

If you have any further questions, please feel free to email or call me at 650 575 4523.

Many thanks,
