CDP for 350 Sharon Park Drive

Dear Council Members,

I live across the street from the Sharon Green Apartments on Eastridge Ave. Although I am not flat-out opposed to BRE's plans, I don't think they have presented a persuasive argument as to why they need to build a new leasing center. They have a very high-occupancy (low-vacancy) rate, so clearly there is no problem with prospective tenants being able to find the current leasing center. At the two meetings of the Planning Commission, when this has come up, one of BRE's main arguments has been that they need more space to store packages that are delivered for residents. Packages? Seriously? To store packages they need to remove 5 heritage trees and build a whole new building, driveway, and 7-space parking lot? Surely they could come up with a more creative, less destructive solution to the package-storage problem. Honestly.
