Pope / Chaucer Bridge

Dear Ms. Collins,

As new residents of the Willows, we are writing to you to express our
thoughts on the flood control alternatives considered for the San
Francisquito Creek / Pope-Chaucer Bridge. We are both civil and
environmental engineers and can appreciate the effort involved in the
development of flood control studies. Alternatives 1 and 2, while they
may address the 40 year flood, have negative effects on other important
environmental factors, such as the extent of tree removal that would be
required, the loss of habitat, and the potential change to the local
environment. We believe that a no flood wall alternative, such as the Save
the Oaks Alternative 3, would provide flood protection while mitigating the
negative impacts of the project.

No flood walls / Save the trees - Alternative 3.

Thank you,

Azalea Mitch, P.E.
