MEDIA ADVISORY: VA Palo Alto To Host Second Marine Corps Muster (2/8)

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- The VA Palo Alto Health Care System is hosting the second annual Marine Corps Muster in Northern California at their Palo Alto division February 8. The U.S. Marine Corps has invited more than 1,300 Marines to participate, all who are still in an inactive reserve status (less than 2 years from active duty). The purpose of the muster is to not only account for Marines and update their information, but to streamline their enrollment into VA healthcare once separated from the military, ensuring no gaps in caring for future Veterans.

The Marines and their families will meet with their leadership, have opportunities to learn about VA services and benefits available to them, meet more than 70 community organizations who specifically support Veterans, as well as find employment opportunities with local businesses and organizations. U.S. Marine Corp leadership, Marine Veterans and VA staff will be available for interviews throughout the day, as well as photo opportunities.
