Citi, in partnership with Menlo College, Silicon Valley's Business School, is pleased to announce the launch of its groundbreaking, new financial literacy pilot program, Learn and Invest for Tomorrow (LIFT).
With generous funding from Citi, Menlo College President Dr. G. Timothy Haight, with Sequoia Union High School District Superintendent Dr. Patrick Gemma, will establish a model for teaching essential financial management skills to select freshman at Menlo College in Atherton, CA and primarily underserved seniors from Woodside High School in Woodside, CA. The initiative is also designed to create access to college opportunities for the Woodside High School participants.
The pilot coursework and assessment will be an outreach program of the College's new Center for Financial Literacy, and will be spearheaded and taught by Associate Professor Donna Little in collaboration with Citi financial executives. The LIFT initiative will be designed for future replication in high schools and community colleges as timely and valuable curriculum enhancement, teaching students what they need to know to make good financial choices in their lives.
