Thanks to monitoring sponsored by Ms. Duboc, I've consistently recieved information about some of the troubling benefits and entitlements the city (by virtue of YOU our elected representatives) has lavished on it's employees.  Please consider that many of Menlo Park's residents have suffered salary and benefit reductions (and in some circumstances job losses) in the current economic environment.  Further consider that many of Menlo Park's residents are hard working, well educated professionals who work in industries and professions which are subject to harsh and stringent global competition unlike many gov't employees.  Notwithstanding the high levels of education (read: years of hard work with no remuneration) and relative success that many of our residents enjoy they will likely NOT enjoy the generous pension and retirement packages that city workers do.  Have some respect for citizens of Menlo Park who essentially fund city activities  and reduce the pension and retirement benefits of city employees to that consistent with the private sector.  Received on Thu Sep 17 2009 - 15:58:02 PDT
