Hon. Mayor and Council Members, et al

Re: City Council Meeting 2/24/09 - Agenda Item #F5 -
Grand Boulevard
       Initiative

The letter from the Government Relations Offcer for the signature of the Mayor on letters to be forwarded to our legislators is very presumptuous: "As Mayor of the City of Menlo Park, I know our residents would be thrilled to have this project supported" We all know this is not true.

El Camino Real in Menlo Park is congested, noisy and polluted and is too close to the equally polluted railroad to be compatible with housing, affordable or otherwise.

All of the comments on the attached e-mail with regard to the unlivability and unsustainability of housing near the railroad, particularly on the east side, apply also to this state highway and to Item #F3 on the above agenda; namely, the High Speed Train.
