Honorable Mayor and members of the Council of the City of Menlo Park, City Manager Glen Rojas,
City Attorney Bill McClure,
Public Works Director Kent Steffens.

Attached please find a copy of a letter sent to the California High Speed Rail Authority by the City Council of Atherton. The letter, sent October 25, 2007, contains a list of critical comments regarding the Draft EIR/EIS, Bay Area to Central Valley. The letter is a public document and a matter of record.

If you have not had the opportunity to read this letter, I urge you to do so. It is highly informative and includes Menlo Park in several of its references.

Please provide me with a copy of the letter sent by the City of Menlo Park to the California High Speed Rail Authority regarding the EIR/EIS. Also, please send me a copy of any document stating the position of the City of Menlo Park regarding the anticipation of the California High Speed Train sharing the Caltrain rail corridor through the City of Menlo Park.

Respectfully and Cordially,

Martin Engel
