NEW TECHNOLOGY IN SILICON VALLEY of all the weirdo problems is least surprising lately.

Example closing down 600 starbucks is surprising. Too many leather motorcycle shops is unlikely. Most things in silicon valley in fact don't make sense.

A very brief vacation - - much more important than having the local thugs try to chase me out of San Jose yet again for no reason - - was a lot of fun. Fighting with people is work. Some would say it's just what the job needed.

Yet vacation is not to be messed with.

I decided to hang around and do some research into new high technology products in silicon valley. With all the layoffs and economic downturn woes as well as a drop off of new business ipo's it's odd that anybody has time to do any new technology projects.

MAYOR OF THE WEEK for the most surprising high tech city in the entire silicon valley area has to be San Bruno's Larry Franzella. The totally innovative YouTube decided to locate there many years ago in San Bruno - -

YouTube, Inc.
901 Cherry Ave.
Second Floor
San Bruno, CA 94066

Any Mayor south of San Francisco who knows enough to lure and retain YouTube is worthy of praise if not immitation. The real news is that YouTube plans to target your home HDTV television set with all the usual weirdo stuff that made YouTube famous in the first place. If it's not home videos it's MTV's latest or even a not-yet-release music video from a real rock and roll band in the real business of rock and roll.

CONCLUSION
I had identified a lot of subjects including Tesla and the all electric 4 door. Also the wi fi do it yourself problem. New cell phones seem interesting. However it is YouTube crossing over to the mainstream beyond the reach of even the mighty Yahoo that remains the most impressive new technology in silicon valley.
