I understand the raised crosswalk at Oak Ave/Oak Knoll Lane is up for
approval tomorrow night.
I would like to encourage the council to approve this item. As a resident at 1870 Oak Knoll Lane, I am astounded at the speed at which people drive through the intersection at all times of day.
I often walk the dog and see many people ignore the stop signs all together. When I walk my young children I feel I need to be on high alert, as if I lived in a metropolitan area versus suburbia.
Many individuals use this area as a cross over to Sandhill, which I understand--however they are not abiding by the speed, signs, and general traffic rules. Any measure to improve this for both school time use and general neighborhood living would be an important safety measure.
Thank you for your review of this matter.
