Dear Council Members,

Thank you for your continued support of the Oak Avenue Traffic Calming measures. Especially with the absence of sidewalks, this is an important action to improve the safety of pedestrians by lowering speeds on Oak Ave. and raising the visibility of the crosswalks. I agree that the vegetation obsuring visibility of the stop sign and encroaching on the parking strip/walkway at the corner of Oak and Oak Knoll should be trimmed back. However, I do not think the limited visibility of the stop sign accounts for the lack of deference that should be given to pedestrians in the crosswalk, as too often happens.

Sincerely,
Kristin Duriseti
