Concern over choice of Seminary Oaks Park ...

My wife and I recently purchased our first home in Menlo Park with our two young sons and are excited to be part of the Menlo Park community. However, we have become quite concerned about the potential selection of our modest sized (but heavily utilized) Seminary Oaks Park as a city site for an emergency water tank.

As I come up to speed on the project details, I'm not seeing the logic in the site selection which would destroy many precious trees and the character of the park, for what seems to be only a partial solution to the city's water needs.

(Seems much more logical to use a site that would be a more complete solution with less environmental and community impact. From what I understand, the City of Mountain View did just that with a real win-win solution which may provide a great local point of reference.)

I think it would be prudent for the City Council to re-visit the goals of this project as well as the site selection process. How can we as concerned residents help make this happen?
