To whom it may concern:
My wife and I are property owners (184 Sand Hill Circle) and I am writing about the annual fireworks show presented by Sharon Heights Golf Club. We are NOT members but are neighbors.
We understand that the permit is being held up due to a complaint of a local woman who, if the rumor is accurate, would like the council to deny SHGC the show because of concern for "the animals".
We could ask about the specific animals involved or, if wild animals, how they are able to handle and survive thunderstorms.
However, we are outraged that the request is even being taken seriously by the council.
This show is a Godsend to those of us who celebrate our national traditions but are not likely to travel to see a fireworks show. Cancel this show and you will have to cancel all such shows.
We hope that the council will see fit to honor our traditions. Please issue the firesworks permit and join us at our annual "neighbors" party.
