Menlo Park El Camino Real/Downtown Visioning and Planning Process - May 14 Update

From: Rogers, Thomas H <THRogers_at_(domain_name_was_removed)>
Date: Wed May 14 2008 - 16:38:31 PDT

Council Members,

Please review the latest El Camino Real/Downtown Vision Plan update below. In particular, please note that the Planning Commission Workshop location has changed- it will now take place in the City Council Chambers, not the Little House Senior Center. We would appreciate your help at getting the word out to email lists and other information sources.

Thank you,
Thomas Rogers

You are subscribed to El Camino Real/Downtown Visioning and Planning Process [ http://www.menlopark.org/projects/comdev_ecrdowntown.htm ]. This is a regular update on the status of this project.

*Speaker Series*

The educational speaker series will continue _tonight, Wednesday, May 14_, with Jim Daisa of Kimley Horn speaking on "Context-Sensitive Thoroughfare Solutions." This presentation and discussion will start at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers (701 Laurel Street), and will also be available for online viewing on the City's Live and Archived Media page [ http://menlopark.granicus.com/ViewPublisher.php?view_id=2 ].

*Planning Commission Workshop*

The Draft Vision Plan will be reviewed and discussed at the Planning Commission Workshop on _Monday, May 19_. Please note: the meeting location has changed since the original newspaper notice and the printing of the newest project newsletter (already on its way to local mailboxes). "_The workshop will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers (701 Laurel Street), not the Little House Senior Center_. "The workshop will include some mid-meeting small-group discussion tables in the Administration Building (also 701 Laurel Street), but it will start and finish in the Council Chambers.

Please review the Planning Commission Staff Report [ http://service.govdelivery.com/service/edition.html?code=CAMENLO_92&date =5/19/2008&time=1:00:00&format=PDF ] (which includes the Draft Vision Plan) for more information. The Planning Commission Workshop will lead into the City Council Meeting on _Tuesday, June 10_. Public input continues to be a crucial part of these events, so please plan to attend and contribute to the discussion. It is never too late to get involved in the visioning process!

*389 El Camino Real Proposal*

As noted in a special email update last week, a development proposal that is not directly affiliated with the visioning process was the subject of a City Council study session on Tuesday, May 13. For anyone who missed that meeting and is interested in the discussion, it can be viewed on City's Live and Archived Media page [ http://menlopark.granicus.com/ViewPublisher.php?view_id=2 ].
