Hello,
Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the meeting of May 13 since I will be out of town. I would like to express my views on the mixed use development at 389 El Camino.
I strongly object to the excessive density of this project (40 units per acre) as well as to a four story building right next to the residential area. My house is on College Avenue, 4 houses away from the parcel in question. The people in the adjacent homes will have all light blocked from such a tall building.
I am in favor of condominium and mixed use development if it is done on a reasonable scale and with consideration for the neighborhood.
The approval of the Derry project has apparently persuaded developers that 40 units per acre is the new number for Menlo Park. I would urge all of the council members to vote against the amendments and variances for this project.
Sincerely,
Jan Willem L. Prak
