Dear Council Members,
I was recently made aware that this August there will be aerial spraying for moths with a DDT spray (and apparently Santa Cruz and Monterey counties have opted out)? Surely this information cannot be accurate. If in the unlikely event there is an aerial spray planned for this August for Menlo Park and our county, I would like to voice both my surprise and strong opposition at this time.
I am certainly willing to consider both sides of the issue, and perhaps an informational email might be an easy way to disseminate the information.
Until I more fully appreciate the risk/benefit analysis for spraying - and there would have to be compelling, robust data on the significant benefits - I strongly oppose the spraying.
Sincerely,
Steve Lipman
