Dear City Council,
A judge halted moth spraying in Santa Cruz and Monterey but there are
still plans "to aerial spray every county in the Bay Area starting in
August."
"Critics of the spraying have voiced strong opposition to the aerial spraying plan after hundreds of residents in Santa Cruz and Monterey counties reported respiratory problems last autumn that they contend were linked to the first round of spraying against the light brown apple moth."
This is of concern to all of us with children. Our county should be included with Monterey and Santa Cruz. We should not be sprayed (and I do mean we!) until they determine what other affects this chemical has on developing respiratory systems. And I suppose you've all heard of the Bee Collapse situation, which is actually very serious--our crops need to be pollinated by bees, but the bees are not thriving or showing up to do their work. This spray affects bees and all other forms of insects. There are concerns about the company who makes the chemical, and their high political contacts in California . . . it's just all very concerning. There used to be a campaign called "DDT is Good For Me!"--that should be enough to teach us a lesson to act on this.
Here is one article about the spraying:

DDT (I add this because this campaign is shocking and unfathomable
with what we know today about DDT):
