Dear Menlo Park and Atherton Councils -
Attached is the Felton Gables Homeowners Association response to the Encinal School Draft EIR. As you can see, our concerns focus on the increased traffic that the project will bring on Encinal Avenue and in our neighborhood and on the projected and dangerous "overflow" parking in our neighborhood. We are concerned particularly about safety for Felton Gables children and for all pedestrians and bicyclists in our neighborhood.
In our letter, we are asking that the district define measurable objectives, as defined under CEQA, to mitigate the problems that their expansion will create.
These are not easy problems to solve. Hopefully, the district, working together with the City of Menlo Park and the Town of Atherton, can minimize the traffic and safety impacts on our neighborhood and on the en.ire area.
