We have received several requests to our Department regarding details of
yesterday's tragic train /pedestrian incident. The Menlo Park Police
Department is not the investigating department and as such we do not
have much more detail than the press has provided. At this point the
Coroner's Office has not made a positive identification of the deceased,
nor has the San Mateo County Transit Police completed their
investigation on the cause of the collision (suicide or accident). If
we received further information it will be provided to Council. Please
contact me with any further questions.
