Dear Mayor and City Council,

Of all the many issues Menlo Park has to contend with, climate change is one of them. Please:

• If you are going to declare an emergency, declare a homelessness emergency and encourage the technology corporations to facilitate adequate low-income or free housing. They caused the class-income divide, they should foot the bill for it.

• Protect longtime Menlo Park residents' property rights, and fight any and all efforts to repeal Proposition 13 (or any similar financial incentives) for either commercial or personal property. The Park, Guild, and Oasis are all gone, and if taxes and costs continue on this trajectory, pretty soon we will have none of our local history left.

• If there is a push to fund a local "Green New Deal" with a restructuring of aforementioned longtime MP residents' capital, be advised not everyone agrees with this. All said, we do care about the environment and are very pleased with our solar panels.

Thank you for your leadership.
