Dear Council Members,

Is there a plan on the docket to address the escalating problem of noise pollution from the trains passing through our neighborhood? I’n recent months the engineers seem to be prolifically sounding the horn non-stop as they pass through the town. This happens from the early hours of the morning and continues at increasingly narrower intervals throughout the day. We are living in one of the most expensive neighborhoods in the US and a relatively sleepy town compared to other areas. Can we unite to find a solution to this escalating problem that is rapidly making this area an undesirable place to live? Perhaps a noise pollution ordinance is already in the works? A solution that addresses train safety concerns but takes into consideration the peace and wellbeing of Menlo Park residents is pressing. I’ve gathered feedback from many up and down the Menlo Park area and they echo the same sentiments.

Looking forward to understanding any plans that may be already in the works to address this.

Kind Regards,
Sarah Moseley
