Dear Council Members,

I deeply regret the careless comments of my neighbor, Rich Rollins. Even more so, I am embarrassed that I have not done more to quell divisive and disrespectful exchange. Obviously, I have my own perspective regarding the school plans, but I have tried to listen to and understand the varied parties with interests at stake.

While this process has been discouraging for me at times, the one thing that has impressed and inspired me consistently is the dedication of the many public servants that serve our city, including staff, commissions, and council members, and the respect for the democratic process. I truly appreciate the time, consideration and courtesy given to me. I am mortified by the prospect that the goodwill generously extended has been grievously betrayed.

Please accept my humble and sincere apologies,
