Dear City Council,
At your 4/1 meeting, in public comment #2, Mr. Brown relayed some inaccurate information that he attributed to me. Whereas Mr. Brown quoted me as saying "I got the staff report 24 hours in advance", I actually said "I got the staff report on Friday and by the time I digested all of it, I had 24 hours to write up a suggested change [to the zoning ordinance amendment] and was only able to send an email comment to staff on Monday morning".
This is not meant to detract from Mr. Brown's point. In fact, as Chair, I had requested that we cover this item in two sessions for similar reasoning as Mr. Brown's. Nevertheless, staff correctly predicted that we would be able to cover the item in one evening using the Commission's customary timing for large items, which is to go about 20 minutes past our goal of 11:30pm.
Still, I want to dispel any perception that I did not have the report for the required 72 hour period. In fact, it was in my Thursday evening mail.
