Dear Honorable Council Members,
At the last budgetary council meeting, the Mayor urged the 8-10 people who came to speak in support of the Willows Traffic Task Force recommendation for an area wide study, to read the emails being written to the City Council. Well I have done that and what I found are a very small number of negative emails, mostly written by a single resident, and an outpouring of emails in support of the study. Moreover, I am appalled by the character of most of the emails written against the study. The authors of these negative emails are largely sensationalizing the issue using absurd language like "civil war", "ghettoizing" and "ethnic cleansing". Furthermore, one of these authors actually has taken to misquoting, taking quotes out of context and purposely misstating the facts. I urge you to look past this obvious last ditch effort to derail progress and move forward with a long awaited and much warranted study of traffic problems in the neighborhood.
Thanks for your consideration.
