Note:  In this comparison after conversion to Word, formattingwas lost; black font indicates no change, colored font indicates a change.Yellow high-lighting is mine. The unchanged minutes for May 14 may not have addressed theMayor's reason for pulling them.  Mycomplaint concerning the May 14 minutes was that the word "repurpose",used in recording the motion (Taylor/Combs) to deny the appeal against grantinga permit to remove 7 Heritage redwood trees from 1000 El Camino Real (ItemF1.1), was far too brief, general and open to deliberate or inadvertentmisconstruction to express the intent of Councilor Nash's conditions for reuseof the resulting lumber for low-cost housing construction or commemorative woodcraft.  The wording of condition 3 for the removal permit(HTR-00223, attached and dated June 4) was a correct, specific interpretation thatshould appear in the minutes, in my opinion. My complaint concerning the May 21 minutes was that therecording of the Public Comment by the chair of the Finance and Audit Committee,Ron Shepherd, grossly misrepresented his emotion and content.  He was incensed by staff action of cancellinga meeting of the F&A Committee without his knowledge or consent and I heardhim threaten to resign.  Watering thisdown to record that he was "discouraged bythe lack of discussion during the Finance and Audit Committee meetings and theprocess of agenda setting" was a disgraceful falsificationof the record to shield a staff colleague, in my opinion. I ask that the minutes of the Council meetings of May 14 and21 be pulled again from the Consent Agenda for the meeting on August 20, 2019 forfurther correction as the Council directs. Sincerely,  Peter EdmondsResident (District 3)
