Re: Planning Commission Meeting 3/31/08 - The Derry Project

Hon. Mayor and Council Members, Planning Commission, et al:

Housing and Urban Development has strict noise gudelines for projects using public money. Is there any way the Derry Project can meet these for protection of the public health?

The Federal Railroad Administration has stated in the Federal Register in answer to the thousands of complaints on train horns that the protection of the public health is dependent upon the choices the city officials make at the railroad crossings.

This city is once again failing to make moitigation a priority or, indeed, to allot any funding for present and potential impacts of dangerous noise levels from trains, freights and blasting injurious horns on its residents. Instead it appears to be bent on adding more numbers to those already severely impacted and unprotected. Just say NO! to ABAG and C/CAG and tell them why.
